Ceviche Easy and Delicious Recipe

Ceviche is a light fish snack widely consumed in the United States. You can meet her in restaurants and cafes not so often, and in vain, as she has great taste and a unique aroma. Luckily, ceviche is easy to make at home.

Ceviche: what products are needed?

To make ceviche, you will need the following ingredients:

  • ½ cup scallops.
  • ½ cup shrimp.
  • ½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice.
  • 2 tablespoons of orange juice.
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest.
  • 1 red onion.
  • 1 sweet red pepper.
  • 1 sweet yellow pepper.
  • 1 tomato.
  • 1 chili pepper.
  • ½ cup cilantro.
  • salt, pepper, and cumin for taste.
  • 1 avocado.
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Ceviche: cooking steps

  1. Cut the peeled scallops in half horizontally. Boil them in boiled salted water for 1 minute. After that, transfer them to a container of ice water.
  2. Boil the shrimp and also transfer them to a container with ice water.
  3. Drain the shrimp and scallops and dry well. Please place them in a bowl and cover them with lime and orange juice. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  4. Drain most of the juice and mix the scallops and shrimp with orange zest, finely chopped red onion, red and yellow peppers, tomatoes, chili peppers, cilantro, salt, and seasonings: pepper and cumin. Refrigerate for another 30 minutes.
  5. Toss with chopped avocado and drizzle with olive oil before serving. Serve in a martini or champagne glasses.
