Italian salad dressing at home: what products are needed

To make Italian salad dressing at home, you will need the following ingredients:

  • white wine vinegar – 2 tablespoons.
  • Dijon mustard – 2 teaspoons.
  • sugar – 1 teaspoon.
  • garlic – 1 clove.
  • dried oregano, thyme, and basil – ½ teaspoon each;
  • salt – ¼ teaspoon;
  • olive oil – 6 tablespoons.

Italian salad dressing: cooking steps

In a small bowl, gently combine the white wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, and sugar. Stir until smooth.

Grate the garlic or cut it into small pieces, and mix with oregano, thyme, basil, and salt.

Add garlic and spices to the mustard, vinegar, and sugar mixture. Stir. Next, gently fold in the olive oil, adding 1 tablespoon and whisk until an emulsion forms. Taste the sauce. Add more spices if necessary. Store the sauce in a covered container in the refrigerator.
